Was it just me who thought that 2016 flew by?! It was certainly quite a year, and here we are in 2017! Every year, I always write down a few things I want to achieve during the year – so here’s what I want to achieve in 2017.
1. Pass my driving test.
Everyone wants to do this, but honestly, everything related to driving has been a nightmare for me. I started taking lessons, then I had to stop due to the surgery, and took up lessons again in September 2016. Long story short, my second driving instructor was extremely inconsistent, so there was a lot of hassle involved in trying to find yet another instructor. And I passed my theory in November 2016, so I just need to pass the practical part! Everyone my age seems to be driving and I’m relying on buses to get me everywhere – so I NEED to pass my test as soon as possible!
2. Gain the Diploma on my course.
My course is only one year long – but I actually thought it would be easier. I knew it would be difficult, but I wasn’t expecting it to be as difficult as it is. I’m almost halfway through it and I have put in so much work, I know I would be extremely disappointed if I don’t achieve the Diploma. It would feel like all my hard work has been a waste and I would also feel that I would have let myself down big time.
3. Meet new people.
I say this every single year and I always feel it is something I achieve. I love meeting new people – there’s always a lot to learn about someone new – their experiences, what they’ve been through, their likes and dislikes, and so much more! And you never know how close you can become with someone through meeting new people.
My friend introduced me to this girl she vaguely knew and I was tired so didn’t really recall much about her – but she’s turned out to be one of my best friends and I know I can trust her with anything. It sounds extremely cliché, but I can’t imagine not having her. It’s reassuring knowing I can turn to her with any concerns, worries and any news (good or bad) I have – pretty crazy I only met her in 2016!
4. Become fitter.
So this is something I seriously need to work on. Every month, I keep saying ‘I need to get fitter, this has to happen’ and it never happens. But no, 2017 is going to be different! I keep putting off exercise, and I’m not sure if it’s just me, but people say exercise makes them feel more alert and awake? It does the complete opposite for me, anytime I go out on a run or something, I come home and sleep! I need to get fitter though, so 2017 will be the year I become fitter (and I honestly mean it this year!!)
5. HAVE FUN!!
Every year, I always resolve to work extremely hard, but balance it out by also having a lot of fun. I have a lot of exciting plans for 2017 and I know that it will be hard work, but it can’t be all work – there has to be an element of fun involved too! I want to look back on the year with no regrets, saying ‘I can’t believe I did that.’ I’ve never wanted to have any regrets, just have fun and work hard. I know 2017 won’t be easy (when is anything ever easy?) but I’m going to take each challenge as it comes and try not to over think things.
So there’s some of the things I want to achieve in 2017 – have you thought about what you want to achieve in 2017? Make sure you tweet us: @Fuzzable.
