Fuzz fans all around, it’s about time to prepare for the spookiest night of the year: HALLOWEEN!! Since Halloween 2021 is going to happen on a Sunday, you might rather join an early Halloween party and spend your Sunday evening at home relaxing and getting ready for the new week ahead. And honestly, to know we all have to face a Monday after Halloween might be the scariest thing of it all.
However, spending your evening on the couch doesn’t mean you have to miss out on some Halloween-ish content.
Your Fuzz fam came up with four fun movies you can watch on Netflix which won’t be all too creepy, but still spooky and fun to celebrate this special night.
Scooby Doo – 2002
Scobby Doo, where are you!
Most of us grew up watching the cartoon form of Scobby, Shaggy, Daphne, Velma, and Freddie by Hanna-Babera Productions Inc.
In 2002 our four heroes took on the big screen, portrait by Linda Cardellini as Velma Dinkley, Matthew Lillard as Shaggy, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Daphne Blake, and Freddie Prinze Jr. as Fred Jones. Scooby’s voice was Neil Fanning.
19 years later and yes, the technical side of it all has improved, but the movie is still just as lovely and as it is the Mystery inc. we are talking about, of course, there’s a spooky case to solve. Surely, Daphne, Velma, and Fred are ready, most likely Scobby and Freddie also might need a little help from their beloved Scooby Snacks.
While you might get onto a Mystery Inc. – roll, you can also check out the newest Scooby Doo adventure from 2020 in animated form, even this one hadn’t made its way onto Netflix by now.
Hotel Transylvania
One thing is for certain: If you decide to check in to Hotel Transilvania you will have a good time!
In the 1st of so far four movies we met Dracula, friends call him Dracu, who wants nothing more than protect his daughter Mavis from everything that is possibly human.
However, things begin to change, since Mavis turns 118 years old and that means: A party is about to take place.
With all of his monstrous friends accidentally Johnny walks into the halls of Hotel Transilvania, a HUMAN BOY!!
Since Mavis and Johnny get along quite well, she wants to travel to HaWeeWee with him. (She meant to say Hawaii)
That’s the second Dracu loses all his already little temper and things start to get messy, but the best sort of it all.
Ghostbusters 2016
The Ghostbusters remake from 2016 gives us all the joy we already had watching the original movies, including some extra tricks and treats.
Kristin Wiig as Erin Gilbert, Kate McKinnon as Jillian Holtzmann, Melissa McCarthy as Abby Yates, Leslie Jones as Patty Tolan are ready so save New York City from Ghosts, it seems only THEY believe in.
Since Chris Hemsworth as Kevin, their pretty handsome but useless receptionist is also in the mix, it all turns out to be a little bit more complicated the four starring women initially thought.
And also, there’s this Mayor of New York City and the FBI who simply don’t seem to understand how important their job is.
This brilliant remake also includes little surprises for fans of the original Ghostbusters four-piece, Dan Akroyd, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, and Harold Ramis.
Since Ramis sadly already passed away, the creators came up with a great way to place three tributes to him. 1. If you look closely, you will find a bust of Harold at the beginning of the movie, and his daughter and son both have a cameo each in two different scenes.
The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina
Not a series, but nothing screams more HALLOWEEN than the new edition of Sabrina the teenage witch: The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina.
The main characters mostly are named the same as the ones from the comedy original from the mid 90’s to the early 00’s.
Sabrina Spellman, her aunties Zelda and Hilda, Harvey, and all of it takes place in Greendale.
That’s where the similarities to the 90’s show are coming to an end.
Sabrina now lives in a house on an old graveyard, her aunties work in their own funeral home and talking about magic: Everything is much, much darker, every spell, every magical decision comes with consequences and for Sabrina, they might be even more strict since she’s half-human, half-witch.
If you are looking for the perfect Halloween series to binge-watch: THIS is the one to go for. First of all: The series comes to a close after the 4th season and 2nd: Even if you won’t binge the whole series in a day or two, Halloween is the perfect day to start it: The story starts on the 31st of October, Sabrina’s 16th birthday, and the day, everything starts to change for her.
Which Halloween-is gem is a must-watch for you?
Did our choice match taste? Or do you rather go for other movies and series to go through the spookiest night of the year?
